I have been bladesmithing since 1993. I started out by taking a toolmaking class at the John C Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC, and was instantly hooked on working with hot metal. Soon after, I took specific bladesmithing classes with teachers like Dr. Jim Batson, Chuck Patrick and Don Fogg. I have taken classes in jewelry techniques to improve my skills ‘working small.’ I set up shop and have continued to learn ever since. I enjoy building machinery and specialized tools to help the process along, as well as for other endeavors. I make my own damascus and mokume. I perform my own heat treating. I make my own sheaths. I take ‘sole authorship’ to heart. I know you will appreciate something made by me--please take a look. If you would like something you don’t see here, feel free to contact me.
